Wow, it just seems like yesterday that we started Alberta Angling Adventures and here we are in our fifth season of producing the only all-fishing guide to Alberta.

We would have to have blinders on not to notice what is going on around the world right now, but it seems that people are still coming to Alberta to experience world class fishing. In 2008 several television fishing show hosts came to Alberta to see and film, first-hand what great fishing our province has to offer. These shows will air next spring on outdoor channels, including World Fishing Network, Wild TV and Global TV.

The provincial government continues to work hard to promote Alberta as a place where consumers can come to live out their fishing fantasies. The Alberta Sportfishing Marketing Consortium has a place at the Provincial Fisheries Round Table and works with stakeholders and government to make sure that what we have here is protected in the years to come.

If you have never had the chance to experience the fishing opportunities in Alberta, make 2009 the year you do it.

Remember to keep your hook in the water and make sure that it is barbless.
